Ravens Resting Key Guys on Saturday vs. Steelers
Earlier this week, the Steelers opened as 3.5-point favorites against the number one seed Baltimore Ravens due, in large part, to the assumption that the Ravens would be resting some of their key pieces heading into the playoffs.
On Thursday, the sportsbooks were proven right, as the Ravens’ injury report revealed at least three players that will be out in Saturday’s season finale in Baltimore, listed as coaches' decision.
QB Lamar Jackson, WR Odell Beckham Jr., and G Kevin Zeitler will all rest up and prepare for the playoffs, as QB Tyler Huntley takes the reins at QB for the Baltimore Ravens. They’ll also be missing some key pieces on defense in LB Malik Harrison, CB Marlon Humphrey, and DB Daryl Worley, although their ruling is tied to injury.
The Pittsburgh Steelers could be getting some much-needed help in their secondary this weekend as two safeties, Minkah Fitzpatrick and Trenton Thompson, both practiced in a limited capacity throughout the majority of the week. Even coming off two strong wins, Mike Tomlin and the boys will welcome some additional bodies at safety, because we have been getting TORCHED in our secondary since the Damontae Kazee suspension and the Minkah Fitzpatrick knee injury back in week 15.
Still, all eyes will be on QB Mason Rudolph and this Steelers offense. Back-to-back 30+ point outings is awesome and something we’ve been needing. However, the Baltimore Ravens boast the best scoring defense in football at 16.4 points per game. Needless to say, the Ravens will NOT go silently into the playoffs. They’ll come ready to play. Here’s to hoping we do the same.
Here. We. Go.
