Steelers Get Trounced in Buffalo
Well, that one hurt to watch.
The Pittsburgh Steelers went into Buffalo, NY, in a game that was postponed due to bad weather, and got their asses kicked in their Wild Card Game against the Bills 31-17.
Pretty much, everything I said we needed to do to win, we didn’t do. I said we had to win the turnover battle; we lost it. I said Najee Harris had to have a big game; he finished with 37 yards on 12 carries. I said we can’t let Josh Allen run all over us; he had 74 yards, including a long one for a touchdown. I also hyped up the return of Minkah Fitzpatrick, and he did play his ass off. However, he had a crucial missed tackle in the fourth quarter that pretty much sealed the game. I’ve seen a lot of yinz saying the referees screwed us, but I’m not gonna do all that.
The fact is, we had bad turnovers to start the game off and fell into a 21-0 hole. Bad or missed calls later in the game while we’re clawing back suck, but we put ourselves into that position. George Pickens had some words after the game about officiating, saying: “You can’t play the bills and the refs…”
I love George Pickens. I want George Pickens to be a Pittsburgh Steeler for a very, very long time. However, him doing this really just feeds the notion coming from a lot of yinzers that think he’s a diva and, dare I say, Antonio Brown-esque. And, like I said, we didn’t lose because of the refs.
All in all, this just sucks. The boys fought their asses off, though. There’s no shame associated with this loss. It’ll be interesting to see what this offseason looks like. A lot of questionables heading into next season.
