Steelers’ Wild Card Game Postponed + Injury Updates
Is it me or do the Steelers’ games get moved and postponed more than any other team in football? Does anyone remember the COVID year debacle, where the Steelers ended up playing 3 games over a span of 12 days? It’s nonsense.
Anyways, the Steelers’ Wild Card Game against the Buffalo Bills was postponed to Monday at 4:30 pm Eastern time, when half the country will be at work. Not to be a Debbie Downer, but the Steelers’ best chance in this game was to play in a snowstorm from hell. The delay means that, depending on the field conditions come Monday, Bills’ QB Josh Allen could now have a potentially significant impact on the game, using his arm. Thankfully, our secondary is as healthy as it’s been in quite some time, so that helps.
I was really looking forward to watching Najee Harris carry us to victory on the ground, and I hate the thought of being in a shootout with the Bills, but it’s alright. We earned our ticket to the dance; same as they did. And I’m not fuckin’ blinkin’. Are you blinkin’?
In other news, the Bills’ ruled out WR Gabe Davis, who has been dealing with a knee injury, and S Taylor Rapp, who has been dealing with a calf injury. I’m not sure what the protocol is on this, but I’m sure they won’t be available, even with the postponement, since they were ruled out and not questionable.
Steelers’ RB Najee Harris was a full participant after missing some practices earlier on in the week, as expected. G Isaac Seumalo didn’t participate at all this week, but from everything I’m reading, his status for Monday’s game is not in doubt. Obviously, TJ Watt will be out, but I mean hey..an extra day to rest that knee; who knows. <—Blatant sarcasm
I’m stressed. I’m irritated. But this is what we signed up for.
Playoffs. In the kitchen. Here. We. Go.
