TJ Watt Named AFC Defensive Player of the Week

The best defensive player of American Football on the planet, Trent Jordan Watt, was named AFC Defensive Player of the Week for his week 18 performance against the Baltimore Ravens. This is the seventh time TJ Watt has won this honor.

TJ Watt finished the game with six solo tackles and two sacks before exiting the game with a knee injury.

We, as Steelers fans, will all be collectively holding our breath on February 8th, 2024, during the NFL Honors ceremony, when they announce the Defensive Player of the Year award. Myles Garrett and Micah Parsons are the odds-on favorites to win the award, but our superstar linebacker, TJ Watt, leads them in, quite literally, every single statistical category this season. It’ll be interesting to see how that shakes out.

In the meantime, our season isn’t over just yet. TJ Watt has already been ruled out for our Wild Card Game against the Buffalo Bills. However, if the Steelers can pull off an upset in Buffalo, Watt may have an opportunity to return for what would be a Divisional Round matchup against the Baltimore Ravens. I’d love to see him wreak havoc on the ratbirds just one more time, so fingers crossed.

Anyways, enough of that. We’re on to Buffalo.

Here. We. Go.
